One bus carrying 34 passengers and returning to Mavelikara in Alappuzha district after the trip to Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred around 6 am. Three passengers were killed and several were injured when a state-owned Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus was plunged into the gorge near the Pullupara in the Hill district.
According to the Kerala Police, the bus was carrying more than 34 passengers and they were returning to Mavelikara in the Alappuzha district after completing the trip to Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. and police were quoted by the news agency PTI.
The bodies of the deceased passengers have been shifted to the private hospital in Mundakayam. It will be handed over to the relatives right after the postmortem. They also added the Police, Fire, and Rescue services personnel were all promptly deployed and carried out the rescue operation.
