A 19-year-old girl passed away on Friday afternoon. She was viciously attacked and sexually molested by her lover at her home in Chottanikkara, Kerala.
The 19-year-old girl is a POCSO case survivor. She was discovered at her Kerala home in critical condition. The following day, she was placed on ventilator support after being admitted to a private hospital.
Following a complaint by the victim’s mother, the 24-year-old boyfriend of the girl was taken into custody on Wednesday, January 29. He was arrested due to suspicion of rape and attempted murder, according to Manorama.
The police said the victim’s boyfriend acknowledged that he had visited the girl’s house on Sunday, January 26th and that they had a fight. Chottanikkara police authorities stated that after the inquest and autopsy are concluded the statements of the involved doctors are recorded. He is the young person who may now also be charged with murder.
According to Manorama, the event was made public after the victim’s Wayanad relative came to the house on Sunday, January 26. They found the 19-year-old girl partially undressed on the floor. Her body was also covered in numerous wounds, and her neck had ligature marks. The Manorama report stated that the girl was heavily bleeding, and locals believed she had been the victim of a protracted attack.
After being threatened by the accused and a gang of young people, the victim, who attended a special school, moved home with her adoptive mother in Kakkanad.
While talking with the media her mother revealed that the accused had frequently assaulted her daughter. “He came to our home regularly, and I had no idea about it until the neighbours informed me,”.
Panchayat spokesperson also confirmed that the victim is an adopted child of her mother. She is a widow.
