The former “Harry Potter” film actor Rupert Grint encountered nearly about 1.8 million-pound bill right after he lost his legal battle with the tax authorities. We all know him as he recreated the role of Ron Weasley in the magical film franchises that were instructed to pay the money in 2019 right after the H.M. Revenue and Customs. The U.K. tax agency investigation and his tax return order came from seven years earlier.
According to the agency, Grint had mistakenly classed 4.5 million pounds in the residuals from the movie money right from the DVD sales. In TV syndication, streaming rights, and other sources the capital assets rather than its income and that is the subject of much higher tax rates.
Lawyers for the Grint are appealed hence after years of wrangling of the tribunal judge ruled against the actors of this week. Judge Harriet Morgan also states that the money
“derived substantially the whole of its value from the activities of Mr. Grint” and “is taxable as income.”
Now Grint is 36 years old and he starred in all eight Harry Potter films between 2001 and 2011. He portrayed the character of the boy wizard’s best friend and calculated to earn more than 24 million pounds for acting in this role. He also previously lost and separated the court battle over more than 1 million of pounds tax that was refunded in 2019.
