According to authorities on Tuesday, a four-story structure collapsed in the Burari neighborhood of north Delhi, killing two persons. Among the dead were a 7-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old.
They said
“The newly constructed building near Oscar Public School crashed on Monday evening. So far, 12 people have been rescued”,
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Delhi Police, Delhi Fire Services, and the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) are conducting the rescue efforts.
A person whose relatives are being rescued, also said,
“…I received information that around 8 people are admitted to the hospital. When I went to the hospital, I could not find my brother, so I came here. I have been here since the last night but my brother has not been rescued till now…Two of my relatives are stuck here…”
Around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, the four-story structure in Kaushik Enclave, Burari, fell. At 6:58 p.m., police reported receiving a call about the incident.
In a previous statement, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi reassured the public that all assistance would be provided to those impacted and directed the local government to guarantee prompt relief and rescue efforts for those who were thought to be trapped.
In a statement released Monday evening, the Delhi Police stated that they were notified of the fall at approximately 7:00 p.m. It stated that it was a brand-new building spanning 200 square yards.

“This incident of building collapse in Burari is extremely sad. I have spoken to the local administration to ensure speedy relief and rescue operations. All possible help will be provided to the affected people.”
Manoj Tiwari, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, examined the search and rescue efforts on Monday evening and asserted that the fall may have been caused by someone’s incompetence.
“It was a 4-storey building and the construction was completed. The POP work for finishing was underway… As per the police reports, 20-22 people were trapped… 12 people have been rescued. The NDRF is at the spot,”.
Manoj Tewari also added that there is “no doubt” that someone’s negligence is the cause of this fall.
It is quite tragic that a building collapsed in Burari. In order to guarantee prompt relief and rescue efforts, I have communicated with the local government.
He also added
“There is no doubt that there is a huge negligence. A newly-built four-story building has collapsed… Whoever is responsible will not be spared,”.
