For making “obscene” comments, Assam police file a formal complaint against Ashish Chanchlani, Samay Raina, and Ranveer Allahbadia.

Ranveer Allahbadia controversy: Due to “obscene” comments made on the show India’s Got Latent, Assam police filed a formal complaint against Ashish Chanchlani, Samay Raina, and Ranveer Allahbadia on Monday.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, reaffirmed this on social media on X. Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija, who were on the show, are also named in the FIR.

After BeerBiceps’ comment to “watch parents have sex,” hosts Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia of India’s Got Latent have been the target of harsh criticism and bullying.

Guwahati Joint Police Commissioner Ankur Jain stated that the “strictest measures possible” would be implemented in response to the FIR, according to ANI.

NHRC also Demands Video Removal from YouTube

YouTube received a letter from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) requesting that videos including Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments be taken down.

NHRC member Priyank Kanoongo wrote to YouTube’s Head of Public Policy, Mira Chatt, on Monday, requesting that the video from India’s Got Latent event be taken down. In it, social media star Ranveer Allahbadia made controversial remarks that caused a stir on the internet.

The Letter Stated

“You are hereby instructed to take immediate steps to remove the relevant episode or videos from YouTube in light of the aforementioned. In order to take further appropriate action, you must also provide the relevant police authorities where the FIR has been filed with information on the channel and the particular videos before such content is removed,”.

 The human rights body also stated in its letter

“The availability of such content on widely accessible platforms, including YouTube, Instagram and Facebook, poses a grave threat to the safety, dignity and the mental well-being of children, including women,”.
