Trump announced on Sunday that Sriram Krishnan will be the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s Senior Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence.
Sriram Krishnan, an Indian American author, venture capitalist, and entrepreneur, was appointed Senior White House Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence by US President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday.
Trump announced several appointments on artificial intelligence (AI) on Sunday, including Sriram Krishnan, who will be the Senior Policy Advisor for AI at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
The White House AI & Crypto Czar, David O. Sacks, will collaborate with Krishnan, who has headed product teams at Microsoft, Twitter, Yahoo!, Facebook, and Snap in the past.
In addition to assisting in the development and coordination of AI policy throughout the administration, especially in collaboration with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, Sriram will work closely with David Sacks to ensure that the United States maintains its leading position in AI. According to Trump, Sriram began his Microsoft career as a founding member of Windows Azure.
Krishnan state,
I’m honored to be able to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in AI working closely with David Sacks.”
Krishnan’s appointment has been welcomed by the Indian American community.
