At 5:36 AM, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Delhi-NCR, sending inhabitants into a panic. Prime Minister Modi called for safety precautions and composure. At 8:02 AM, another earthquake of the same size struck Siwan in Bihar. Authorities are keeping an eye out for any possible aftershocks.
The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reports that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 struck Siwan, Bihar, on Monday morning at a depth of 10 kilometers.
At 8:02 a.m., the vibrations were felt.

“EQ of M: 4.0, On: 17/02/2025 08:02:08 IST, Lat: 25.93 N, Long: 84.42 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Siwan, Bihar,”.
PM Modi also added
“Tremors were felt in Delhi and nearby areas. Urging everyone to stay calm and follow safety precautions, staying alert for possible aftershocks. Authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation,”.
But as of right now, no injuries or damage have been reported.
Residents of a number of high-rise buildings in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Indirapuram, and Ghaziabad hurried out of their homes due to the powerful vibrations caused by the earthquake.
According to an official who spoke to PTI, the epicenter was situated close to Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan.
There have been small, low-magnitude earthquakes in this lakeside region around every two to three years, including a 3.3-magnitude one in 2015. When the earthquake occurred, the official also claimed to have heard a loud noise.
