According to two Republican individuals with knowledge of the situation, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been sleeping on the floor of his government office, which is just a short distance from the White House and President Donald Trump.
The 53-year-old entrepreneur has been based in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB), part of the White House complex, since assuming the position of chairman of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Elon Musk has been spending a significant amount of time in his DOGE office, even sleeping there occasionally, according to a person who spoke to People. The source shares “He’s been holed up in his office recently, including sleeping on a couch and sometimes the floor,”.

Located just across from the West Wing, the EEOB is home to a number of agencies within the President’s Executive Office. According to a source who spoke to People, Musk has been staying at his office for extended periods of time, even sleeping there on occasion.
Furthermore, Musk has been regularly spotted in the EEOB with his 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, who he has with musician Grimes. It is unclear, though, if the child also spends the night in the building.
