Over a dozen employees have received notices of termination as a result of the restructuring of the US Digital Service under Elon Musk’s DOGE. The action indicates that Musk intends to replace present employees with his own group, leaving current employees in a precarious position.

According to Bloomberg, which cited two individuals, Elon Musk’s DOGE team is threatening to fire scores of employees at the US Digital Service. Elon Musk’s DOGE is expected to replace the USDS, a group of government information technology workers, it said.

Interestingly, according to the study, the USDS and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, also known as the United States DOGE Service, are technically one and the same. However, it pointed out that Elon Musk has “used the USDS more as a vehicle” for Elon Musk’s new team.

USDS employees now have been working in IT for the all US government from the time of former US President Barack Obama. For the new weeks, they have been uncertain about the jobs according to the report.

According to the report termination letters have been sent to over a dozen of workers from February 14 from the US DOGE service. The reason is it has been cited in US President Donald Trump’s January 20 executive order establishing DOGE.

According to the one letter copy which shared with Bloomberg stated

“Due to the restructuring and changes to USDS’s mission, USDS no longer has need for your services,”.

All the staff remaining have been told that they must come physically to the Office by April 15th. This statement is clearly written on the letter copy which has been shown.
