An 18-year-old engineering student named Aditi Mishra is said to have committed herself on Wednesday after failing the JEE tests, the results of which were announced the previous day.
She left after a “sorry” note to her parents.
NDTV said that Aditi hanged herself because she was upset with the outcome.
Furthermore, she left a suicide note, where she mentioned, “”Sorry mummy papa, forgive me… I could not do it…”
Aditi Mishra has spent the last two years preparing for the JEE exams at Momentum Coaching Center in Betiahata, which is located in the Cantt police station area of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. She and another girl shared a room at the Satyadeep Girls Hostel, according to the NDTV report.
After failing the JEE exam, Aditi Mishra reportedly spoke to her parents on Wednesday morning and even pleaded with her father to recharge her phone. She appeared to be depressed at the time of the conversation. Meanwhile, her roommate had moved out.
When Aditi’s roommate returned, she knocked on the door but received no response. She looked inside and saw Aditi hanging from a noose made of rope. The roommate immediately notified the dorm warden, who subsequently contacted the police.
